Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW is a researcher and a storyteller. Her work on the human condition has been so eye-opening for me, and I wanted to share her words with you in a visual format. These "10 Guideposts to Wholehearted Living" come from her book, The Gifts of Imperfection, and my personal favorite audio session, The Power of Vulnerability - which is a compilation of all her years of research.
I'm the graphic designer for the images below. I wanted to bring together a cohesive visual theme for each of the guideposts. Each one focuses on one concept to cultivate (top half in color), while letting go of it's nemesis (bottom half in black and white). I wanted to separate them out, because everyone will have an individual set of guideposts they want to focus on more, or a different order in which to tackle them in. These are always free to everyone, and you can download these high-res images for your personal use as a screen saver, or print them and put them up on your wall at home, share them on social medial, or any way you like. I personally find that a gentle visual reminder helps me to instill an idea better in my heart.
Brené Brown outlines on her website how she wants her work to flourish and keep touching people in her FAQ section, and I wanted to contribute to her message by creating these 11"x 14" posters. All the photos are by amazing photographers from all over the world via unsplash.com and each image has the photographer's photo credit line at the bottom.
Especially in uncertain times, I wanted to contribute to the greater good. Creating these posters has been on my heart for awhile, and the gift of time has presented itself to create them. Enjoy!
