Julie Leidel is a Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan inspired by The Arts & Crafts Movement (1880-1920), the Art Nouveau Movement, and the WPA era of the 1930s. Julie's artwork evokes a feeling of yesteryear, and her revivalist approach calls upon the spirit of the Arts &Crafts Movement - at its center was the principle that the head, heart, and hand should ideally work as one.
Since 2006, the mediums and textures of the Arts & Crafts Movement-wood, mica, pigment, glass, metal, clay, leather, and textile-have all played a role in shaping my artwork and how I see the world through it. These rich colors and textures continue to inspire me and enrich my artistic expression. I share my news and musings about my artistic inspiration on my blog.
My website has a full list of all my artwork I have for sale under the shop link. My Art Show Schedule is updated, and I have links to the galleries and retail stores that carry my artwork. To see a full list, please check out my Shows & Locations page.
Want to join my mailing list The Bungalow Craft News? You'll get only a few email notifications a year with introductions to new art, upcoming shows and news. The very latest will happen on Facebook & Instagram first, so feel free to follow my other social media outlets and see what's new about my work in the media.
I have just been elevated to Roycroft Master Artisan in 2021. I'm so honored! Since 2016, I have been a Roycroft Renaissance Artisan, and to me, this is a career-defining chapter in my life. On my 2016 (and newer) original paintings you'll see the Double "R" Roycroft artisan trademark. I'm humbled to be accepted into this prestigious artisan group. I'm also a board member for The Roycrofters-At-Large Association, and The Colorado Arts and Crafts Society. If you like my artwork, chances are you'll also enjoy my contemporary Arts & Crafts links page focused on fellow artisans inspired specifically by the Art & Crafts Movement and its Revival.
There are 4 gallery categories with over 195 paintings to choose from on this website so feel free to take a look around. Creating new artwork is my life's blood so this site will continue to grow. Feel free to browse and I really love hearing from you. Want to order in bulk of 5 or more? I have a discount for you. If you have questions or comments, requests, or suggestions, send me an email.
Thanks for stopping by, Julie Leidel
