Evoking The Feeling of Yesteryear
Julie Leidel is a Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan inspired by The Arts & Crafts Movement (1880-1920), the Art Nouveau Movement, and the WPA era of the 1930s. Julie's artwork evokes a feeling of yesteryear, and her revivalist approach calls upon the spirit of the Arts &Crafts Movement - at its center was the principle that the head, heart, and hand should ideally work as one. Since 2006, the mediums and textures of the Arts & Crafts Movement-wood, mica, pigment, glass, metal, clay, leather, and textile-have all played a role in shaping my artwork and how I see the world through it. These rich colors and textures continue to inspire me and enrich my artistic expression. I share my news and musings about my artistic inspiration on my blog. My website has a full list of all my artwork I have for sale under the shop link. My Art Show Schedule is updated, and I have links to the galleries and retail stores that carry my artwork.
