Hanging Lake, near Glenwood Springs, Colorado is one of my favorite water features in the state with it's beautiful waterfalls. It's small, but a mighty force to see when the teal green-blue waters inspire you. The color is due to the geology of the fault line here, and it comes from the travertine deposits and carbonate minerals that have dissolved in the water. Make reservations ahead of your visit if you'd like to hike here, it's a rare gem!
