- Cherry Springs State Park, PA
Cherry Springs State Park in Pennsylvania is nearly as remote and wild today as it was two centuries ago. It is named for the large groves of black cherry trees that were originally found in this 82-acre dark skies state park, which is surrounded by 262,000-acre Susquehannock State Forest. Night sky enthusiasts flock to the park for its dark skies which are famous for great views of the Milky Way, planets, and hard-to-see astronomical objects and phenomena. Artwork by Julie Leidel, 2024.
